Tampa Fishing Charters!

Fish Tampa Bay to Tarpon Springs and Everywhere in Between!

Catpain Clay with a nice redfish that he caught in Tarpon Springs

Tampa Bay Area Fishing Guide, Capt. Clay Eavenson is a

FULL-TIME inshore fishing guide and specializes in Light Tackle, Inshore, Fishing Charters for Snook, Redfish, Trout, Tarpon, and More! He guides on the inshore waters of Tampa Bay, Clearwater, Tarpon Springs, St. Petersburg, and everywhere in between.

What if it Looks Like Capt. Clay is Already Booked?

CALL HIM ANYWAY! Sometimes you might mistake a "Partially booked day" as being fully booked on his calendar. When days are partially booked that means that there is time to book another fishing charter that day! If the day is actually fully booked, CALL HIM ANYWAY! He has a close knit network of 4 other fishing guides that he personally vouches for. He has fished with all of them on several occasions and can vouch for their personalities, work ethic, and ability to put you on fish. Three of them run Ranger Boats and 1 of them runs one of the exact same boats as Capt. Clay.

Tampa Bay Area Fishing

Tampa Bay, Tarpon Springs, Clearwater, and St. Petersburg are some of the most fertile, inshore fishing grounds in all of Florida. Beaches, mangrove shorelines, brackish creeks and rivers, and expansive grass flats are the settings for our inshore fishing charters. Snook, redfish, trout, and tarpon are our main targets but seasonally we also target grouper, sheephead, cobia, and more.

All of this great fishing is done using only top shelf fishing gear and the finest boats. Capt. Clay is a great teacher, when approached for tips but he doesn't push anything on his clients. He runs his charters with his client's interests in mind. Whether you say you want a hard core fishing charter or just a fun "catch anything" fishing trip, Capt. Clay tailors the excursion to your desire. Capt. Clay has chartered other professional fishermen, families with children as young as three years old, and corporate groups of 30+ anglers.

Capt. Clay can accommodate anglers of all skill levels and groups of any size; all the while at a first class level of service.

Fall is in the Air. Fish are on the lines!
10-7-2008

It's really been a cool feeling in the morning. Literally. Instead of getting into the boat at 6am to catch bait, already soaked with sweat, I've been putting on long sleeve shirts for the ride out. Sure it's been getting warm in the afternoon but the cooler night time air temperatures have dropped the water temperature. The fish have taken notice...

Snook Season is Upon us!

And it right on time! Snook are making there way back from the beach and they are around spoil islands, oyster bars, on the flats, and around creek mouths. They'll be gorging themselves over the next couple of months to prepare for their quasi-wintertime hibernation.

Redfish are still biting good and during stretches of good weather, the fish have been schooling up. 40-50 fish days are not out of the question when the conditions are right

Oct. and Nov. '08...

This is quite possibly the best time of the year to fish for redfish and snook. Fishing charters during this time of year in the Tampa Bay and Tarpon Springs areas get a shot at huge numbers of redfish as well as a chance to take home some snook for dinner as snook season is open.

Fishing Charter Tips...

-Don't wear shoes that you don't want getting wet. If you do, you might want to take them off when you get on the boat. Capt. Clay suggests sandals.

-Pack light. Bring only what is necessary. You'll be much more comfortable in an uncluttered boat. Hat, food, drinks, sunscreen, sunglasses... that's about all you need.

-Leave the house or hotel earlier than you think you need to. You don't want to miss the best bite of the day because you got stuck in traffic on the way to your fishing charter.

-Be excited! Your guide loves fishing and he's excited about every trip. Also, keep in mind that your guide wants you to catch a ton of fish at least 10 times more than you do. So, no matter what he does (weird bait, fishing a spot that doesn't make sense, or chanting a fish call) he's doing it with your "fish catching" in mind.

Corporate and Group Fishing Charters Welcome!

Through Capt. Clay's network of skilled, licensed, and insured guides he can organize the perfect Tampa, Clearwater, Tarpon Springs, or Ruskin corporate fishing charter. He and his affiliated guides can take 1-100+ anglers on a charter and even organize a corporate fishing tournament; complete with awards ceremony, lunch or dinner, and photos of your corporate outing! Call today to inquire about this unique Tampa Bay area fishing charter!

Inshore Fishing Charters

Whether you're new to inshore, saltwater, fishing or you have many years worth of salt buildup in your veins, we can tailor  a charter just for you.  You can chase snook on the beaches in Clearwater in the summertime or you could choose Tarpon in Tampa Bay or World Famous Boca Grande Pass that time of year. You can stalk redfish schools in the spring and fall near St. Petersburg or you could opt for sight fishing snook in Tarpon Springs. You can catch massive quantities of trout in New Port Richey in the winter or you could choose to catch some tasty, cold weather, grouper in Tampa Bay. Wait! What about Kingfish in the Spring and Fall? Yep, we do that too!

If those decisions aren't hard enough to make, you can then decide whether or not you want to choose one of those trips and fish with live bait or maybe you could choose to stalk your prey with artificial lures. Then... which boat would you like to take? The Ranger Ghost for real skinny water expeditions? Or, the Ranger 2200 Bay boat for an all-purpose, roomy, comfortable, fishing charter?

We can specialize any trip for any size group. Whether you have a corporate outing planned in Tampa or you're visiting a few friends in Tarpon Springs, we can accommodate any size group.

Snook, redfish, trout, tarpon, grouper, kingfish... big group, small group, by yourself... Artificial lures or live bait... big boat, small boat... We can make any combination of these happen!
